Zanesville Maintenance Technician

Summary


AMG Vanadium (AMG V) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our growing organization at our new Zanesville Plant. AMG Vanadium’s Maintenance Technician provides advanced industrial maintenance and machine mechanic support to enable the continuous operation of plant equipment, machines, and mechanical processes throughout the plant.


Responsibilities and Duties

• Comply with all AMG V policies, and procedures, safety and environmental requirements, and AMG’s Code of Business Conduct • Embrace and promote the AMG V culture in all day-to-day activities • Ensure continuous operation of the Plant by routinely completing preventive maintenance checks on production equipment, machines, engines, motors, hydraulic valves/cylinders, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, etc. • Troubleshoot and identify faulty machine and equipment through observation and testing metrics • Remove, replace defective parts/equipment and restore operations to achieve maximum uptime and minimize production downtime; comply with all safety, environmental and code requirements when repairing equipment • Source replacement parts in accordance with required specification • Utilize machine/welding skills to fabricate repairs for non-routine/non-mechanical metal fatigue failures • Follow scheduled maintenance work order system and participate in planning of required maintenance mechanical support during scheduled outages • Work closely with Engineering and Production Departments as required • Support preventative maintenance training of non-maintenance team members • Understand roles and responsibilities in support of production team’s operational goals and metrics
• Utilize principals of lean manufacturing, including 6S, to support operational and process improvements • Perform other duties as may be required


Qualifications/Skills/Requirements


• Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude required; mechanical or electrical certification required
• Experience in fast paced heavy manufacturing environment desired; steel or hot metal experience a strong plus; hands-on experience strongly preferred
• Capable of reading blueprints, drawings, schematics, and detailed equipment operation specifications
• Hydraulic experience required
• Pneumatic experience required
• Welding experience required
• Basic electrical experience required
• Must be receptive and adaptable to change
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills a must (verbal, written, and listening skills)
• Team player and works well in collaborative environment
• Capable of and willing to perform production duties as needed
• Knowledge of or desire to learn lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
• Demonstrate level of proficiency to work without close supervision
• Ability to work 12 hours swing/rotating shifts (weekends included)
• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments where the temperature can swing rapidly
• Ability to work in physically demanding environment; bending, stooping and lifting of 50 lbs. required
• Strong work ethic and good attention to detail
• Punctual, reliable and have good attendance history
